There’s no mistaking where Bingo Australia’s loyalties lie and customer base hails. This site is as Aussie as they come, complete with a logo featuring a koala bear wearing a T-shirt with the Australian flag on it. It’s the Australian equivalent of a British bingo site daubed in Union Jacks. Although the UK is thought of as the primary bingo-playing market, many other western nations also have a love for the game, Australia included.
The site was established in 2002 and has been serving the needs of the country’s largely female bingo-playing demographic ever since. It’s not the slickest design you’ll ever encounter and isn’t especially mobile friendly, but Bingo Australia’s website will do, especially if you’re a desktop user. The latest winners on the site are displayed in a prominent red text box; Witchy Woman would appear to be the luckiest player at Bingo Australia, occupying the top spot with a trio of $600 wins. That’s assuming this information is correct of course. There’s also a box displaying the value of all wins on the site the previous day, a figure that exceeds $100,000.
There doesn’t appear to be any information about Bingo Australia’s owners or their intentions, for there’s no About page and no information displayed in the footer of the website. Other than clarifying that the site was founded in 2002, everything else about Bingo Australia is a mystery. For most players, admittedly, this won’t be a deal-breaker, as they’re far more inclined to judge the site on its games, design and promotions rather than its smallprint, or lack of. If you need to get hold of customer support while using the site, your best option is to use live chat or email. The site does at least seem to maintain its social channels, so by all means check out the Bingo Australia Facebook and Twitter pages.
The good news is there’s a banking page at Bingo Australia. The bad news is it appears to have been written in a language that barely qualifies as English, complete with sentences such as “We have integrated in our system the newest technology to allow our members to go directly to the sites of e-commerce through a completely save and intuitive interface.” What on earth does that mean?
Regardless, your deposit options are Visa, MasterCard, Money Transfer, Paysafecard, American Express and Neteller. There doesn’t appear to be any information about minimum deposit and withdrawal amounts, or how long funds take to clear. Bingo Australia isn’t the most informative of sites to put it mildly.
The featured image slider on the homepage of the site details various promotions that are available including a number of seasonally themed promos to coincide with Easter, Christmas or whatever time of year it happens to be. There’s also Crazy Pokies, which is a slots promotion, a $150,000 RailRoad tour, which dispenses $5,000 in guaranteed cash prizes every week, a $1 Player Appreciation Freeroll on Wednesdays at 7pm which doles out over $1,000 in prizes each month and the 1 Cent Bingo Room which operates 24/7 and has top prizes of $1.
These promotions are explained in more detail on the site’s promotions page, although even then, some of them make little sense. With the $150,000 Railroad Tour, for example there’s the chance to ride the rails and ‘get to know four incredible USA destinations’. Presumably this is virtually rather than in real life. Perhaps there are bingo games themed around iconic American places of interest? Free bingo is an integral part of playing at Bingo Australia. There are loads of freebie games which can be enjoyed with no need to make a deposit. A separate Bonuses page on the site details the loyalty scheme that rewards players for every deposit they make.

The Australian government has recently been cracking down on various forms of online gambling, having controversially outlawed online poker and other types of betting. Head to the bingo page on the site and you’ll be greeted by a notice informing you that ‘Due to changes in Australia’s policies to online gambling we no longer can offer bingo in AUD’. While the site is still clearly marketed at Aussie players, it’s uncertain how easy it now is for them to get funds into a playing account at Bingo Australia due to this crackdown.
If you can get the site to operate for you, you’ll find three primary bingo rooms vying for your attention. There’s the Outback Room, which operates 24/7, there’s the 1 Cent Room and there’s the $150,000 Railroad Tour. The largest prize which can be won comes not from the Outback Main Room, where there’s a $750 jackpot to be claimed, but from the 1 Cent Room where there’s a $1,000 jackpot. Given that tickets for the former room cost 20x that of the latter, this is confusing to say the least. It’s worth noting, incidentally, that the dollar prices quoted are are in US dollars, presumably as a consequence of the crackdown on online gambling in Australia.
While the rest of the world has slots, Australians and New Zealanders have pokies. They’re the same thing, but round here they just happen to sound more, well, Aussie. These have been divided into three categories at Bingo Australia: Pokies, 3D Pokies and Full-size Pokies. Many of the regular pokies are simple 3-reel slots with 1 payline. Try games such as Makin’ Bacon, Three Times The Riches, Citrus 7 and Double Scoop Delight, which sounds like a brand of protein powder. The site also has a selection of mini games, video poker, blackjack and keno.
Bingo Australia isn’t a great site by any stretch of the imagination. It’s a little outdated and particularly isn’t suited to mobile play. Indeed, there’s no mention of mobile whatsoever, anywhere on the site, which shows how behind the times Bingo Australia is. The site feels like a place whose best days are behind it. Admittedly, much of its demise can be attributed to the Australian government’s recent change of policy on gambling.
Even so, there’s a lot more that could be done to make this into the sort of bingo site you might actually want to play at. There’s a lack of useful information on the site and the information that is provided is frequently missing or written in unintelligible English. There isn’t a particularly enticing casino bonus available here and the range of bingo games is pitiful, certainly compared to that which British players can enjoy. Whether you hail from Australia, the US, or any other bingo-loving nation, you’re unlikely to be impressed with the range of games on offer here or the quality of customer service.
